The Jamaican judiciary has introduced direct deposit payments as a more efficient and convenient way to collect maintenance, jury duty stipends and reimbursement of bail bonds from the relevant courts.
This has been revealed by the Director of Court Administration, Tricia Cameron-Anglin, according to a statement issued Thursday by the Court Administration Division (CAD).
Cameron-Anglin has described direct deposit as “game-changing for the courts”.
She pointed out that several cheques have become stale dated because of non-collection.
“This (direct deposit) forms part of the judiciary’s strategic plan to make the courts more efficient and more service-oriented,” said the director.
