Report: Lafayette teen involved in fatal crash in Illinois Deanna Watson, Lafayette Journal & Courier © Journal & Courier Crash file illustration A 19-year-old from Lafayette suffered life-threatening injuries in a fatal crash in Illinois late Thursday, according to the Illinois State Police.  The two-vehicle crash occurred just after 11 p.m. in Taylorville Township on Illinois 48, near Christian County Road East 1550 North. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene. The Lafayette teen, whose identity was being withheld, was a passenger in a red 2009 Ford Focus. The driver of the Ford, a 19-year-old woman from Taylorville, Ill., died at the scene. Her identity was also being withheld pending notification.
