Let me explain. When the two forces are separate, when isil is at some geographic separation from the Iraqi Security forces, it is not very difficult at all to discriminate between the targets. Isnt our problem when they are not out in open space and we have to distinguish between civilian targets and military targets that our people are very effective at that . Absolutely. If we get into a circumstance where the forces are very intermingled then the target discrimination becomes more difficult. This isnt a light switch. There are technologies available that allow us to actually apply force and to see the situation on the ground in ways we couldnt before. Im not walking away from what i said. If we get to the point where i think we need with the Iraqi Security forces i will make the recommendation. You do not think we need that at this time . I do not. And so we continue to move to make progress, but we have a lot of Unfinished Business. We have a lot of Unfinished Business in the area of Economic Justice as well. And it starts with the minimum wage. Nobody who works a fulltime job in this country should have to live in poverty. [applause] and what we see all too frequently are people working hard and falling further behind, people who have to make choices between do i pay the mortgage, do i pay the rent, or do i pay for my daughters medicine . Those are choices that we should never have to make here in america. I applaud the san diego city council, i applaud other local councils who are tackling this issue. Thirteen states in the last year have raised the minimum wage. Business openers across Business Owners across this country tell me, tom, this is a consumptiondeprived economy, and the way to get more customers is to put more money in their pockets. Thats why we need to raise the minimum wage. And if we want to expand opportunity
A president that was just drven out of the whourt. Congress beached net, and there are only about 16 republican senators that would have backed nixon. Nixon knew he was doomed. He left 40 years ago because theres no party turned on him. Barry goldwater turned on nixon and said get out of here. Thats not what conservatism is about. Were not about break the laws. So the conservative movement isnt shed. Theres a new book out where hes talking about the fall of nixon and the rise of reagan, when nixon nixon used to say, at least in the tapes, people, the liberals hate me, dont understand. They lose me, its all rightwing conservatism on the other side, that im the liberal moderate of the republican party. And instead of wanting to do business with me and liking me, theyre trashing me, and they lose me, theyre going to get to the far right. Thats where the politics is at today.
