a county racing to meet today s recount deadline. all right, kerry, walk us through this, because voting machines there have been overheating, they had to be shut down. are they going to meet the recount deadline today? reporter: i really don t think so. i mean, the supervisor of elections for this county, susan booker, has not come out and said anything today about, yeah, we re going to make the deadline. and all indications are that they re not going to. let me first take you over my shoulder here. you can see what they re doing is examining ballots. each party gets an opportunity to take a look at the ballots that maybe are in question. so right now we have a republican who is standing here, going over each of the ballots and taking notes. and now as i take you across the room and you look here, see how empty that is, stephanie? well, it s empty, which is really a problem, because they should be counting more of the votes. and instead, you don t see anybody counting votes here. so
