LSS Fairfield County food pantry restores choice back to normal

LANCASTER - The LSS Fairfield County Food Pantry has reopened to normal operations. Executive Director Jennifer Fralic said families who meet specific income requirements are now able to walk-in and select their own food. During the COVID-19 pandemic, LSS continued to serve families in need while slightly changing their operations. For the past year, families would drive to the pantry and receive a box of pre-selected food items via contactless pickup.  Despite the changes, Fralic said the pantry was able to persevere and get food into the hands of people who needed it most.  It was a challenge to go from a choice model to essentially an old-school prepacked box, Fralic said. We were still able to give as much food as before, it s just the thing that was lacking was that choice.
