Hudson Dems Strife Over ICE Shows Failure of NJ Ballot Design ×
Ricardo is the Secretary and a founding member of the Progressive Democrats of New Jersey and the Progressive Democrats of Hudson County.
Dear Editor:
It’s never been more clear that Hudson County’s ruling conservative Democratic establishment is out of touch. It takes a special kind of delusion to take offense when both of your U.S. Senators and local activists are united in strong opposition to your taking blood money from ICE. Yet, County Executive DeGise and Freeholder Chairman Vainieri stick to their guns.

Hudson County will open its first COVID-19 vaccination site at the USS Juneau Center, Office of Emergency Management in Kearny next week, according to Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise.
The center will be operated by the Hudson Regional Health Commission and overseen by the newly established Hudson County Vaccine Task Force, which will coordinate vaccine response across several county departments.
But just because the vaccination site will be up and running doesn’t mean the county will stop offering COVID-19 testing. It will continue to partner with Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus to provide tests.

The vaccination site, located at the USS Juneau Center at 110 Hackensack Ave., will be operated by the Hudson Regional Health Commission and overseen by the newly established Hudson County Vaccine Task Force.
They will help coordinate vaccine response across several different county departments and autonomous agencies, as well as the community at large.
“Our nation has eagerly awaited the approval of a vaccine to combat the COVID-19 crisis and Hudson County has worked diligently for the past nine months to prepare for this moment,” DeGise said in a statement.
