Etowah County gets grant for Rainbow Drive-Whorton Bend Road project

An ATRIP II grant will fund added turn lanes at the intersection of Rainbow Drive and Whorton Bend Road to address late afternoon traffic back-ups.

Work will require closure of part of Tidmore Bend Road

The work should be completed later in the day. Motorists will need to detour on Rolling Hills Road to Pope Road. Assistant County Engineer Robert Nail said service to Northeast Etowah County Water Cooperative customers in the Tidmore Bend Road area may be affected while the work is being done.
