Sovereign immunity refers to the proposition that the government cannot be sued without its consent, or in other words, the King can do no wrong, which is a centuries-old, universally applicable doctrine codified in the Eleventh Amendment of the United States Constitution.

that state s constitution. constitution is very clear on this. rather than go through the arduous process of having a constitutional amendment, which is harder than passing a law, they took the easy way out, which makes the act itself unconstitutional. the state s constitution especially states that absentee voting is only allowed in the event that a person s duties, occupation, or business require them to be elsewhere or who on the occurrence of any election are unable to attend at their proper polling places because of illness or physical disability or who will not attend a polling place because of the observance of a religious holiday or who cannot vote because of election day duties in the case of a county employee. that s right there in the constitution. but now this recent bill allows any voter to cast a ballot by mail for any reason in the weeks leading up to the election. these ballots are accepted until 8:00 p.m. on election day, but
well, i agree that the governor has to consider what is going on with the rest of the state. there are some counties with half of the rate of the case transmission that we have here in l.a. county, and also some counties that are much smaller and they don t have as many essential workers as we have here in l.a. county, and we are a big manufacturing center where we are a huge port, lots of retail, lots of factory, and so we will continue to need to pay attention to protecting the workers and making sure that we get the transmission down as low as possible, before we take off this important layer of protection. last week we saw the l.a. county of superintendents vote to give the county s personnel director the power to discipline or fire any county employee who is not vaccinated, this after the los angeles sheriff declined to enforce the mandate among his deputies, so do you believe that
