HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - A section of the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 49 in Hattiesburg was shut down for more than an hour Friday after a load of processed chicken was spilled across the roadway.
Forrest County Emergency Management Director Glen Moore said two lanes of the highway near State Route 42 were blocked off after a truck hauling the chicken lost part of its load while trying to avoid colliding with another vehicle.
