Clare’s County Dog Warden is advising dog owners here to leave their pets at home if visiting a tourist hotspot this weekend.
Temperatures are expected to reach 20 degrees in the coming days, with many people opting to take dogs with them if going on a trip to the beach or a walking spot.
However, concerns have been raised that dogs can become seriously ill or worse if left in warm cars for any length of time.
