TROY, N.Y. â Rensselaer County officials recently gathered with families of loved ones to remember victims of DWI. In conjunction with Crime Victimsâ Rights week, The DWI Victim Memorial on Congress Street was held to memorialize those lost to such a senseless crime.
While, thankfully, there have been no DWI-related deaths this year in the county, the event served as an important reminder of the consequences of drinking and driving.
It was a rainy, solemn day but not even a torrential downpour could prevent people from honoring their loved ones and sharing their stories to foster awareness on the perils of drunk driving.
