A Parker County grand jury recently indicted Troy Neil Smith, 39, of Mineral Wells, on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
On Jan. 13, a Parker County Sheriffâs Office deputy was dispatched to an address in Mineral Wells in reference to a person with a weapon, according to the probable cause affidavit. Upon arrival, a male at the scene advised the deputy that he was arguing with Smith. The male said Smith was holding a kitchen knife saying he was going to kill him.
â[Smith] threatened to call CPS to have the victimâs 5-month-old child taken away from them at which time the victimâs girlfriend [â¦] started walking toward the defendant,â according to the affidavit. âThe defendant pulled a gun out of his back pocket and pointed it at [the girlfriend]. The defendant then pointed the gun at the victimâs head with his finger on the trigger.â

A Parker County grand jury recently indicted Andrew Joseph Ruiz, 20, of Weatherford, on nine counts of possession of child pornography.
A search warrant was obtained for Ruizâs residence following an investigation by the Kennedale Police Department on Dec. 18, 2020, according to the arrest warrant affidavit. It was reported by Kennedale middle school officials back on Sept. 17, 2020, that a 12-year-old female student was receiving sexually explicit photos from an adult male who was later identified as Ruiz.
After executing the search warrant, an investigator examined Ruizâs iPhone on Jan. 6 and found about 40 stored image files that included children, ages 4 and 5, in various states of nudity and engaging in sexual acts, according to the affidavit. The file names described the sexual acts and the ages of the children.

A Parker County grand jury indicted Joey Lee Long, 35, of Fort Worth, on March 5 for aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 6 and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Long was said to have committed the offenses on Feb. 1, 2013 at a residence in Springtown.
The child made an outcry at the Childrenâs Advocacy Center of Parker County in March of 2019 when she was 10 years old. During the forensic interview, the child said Long touched her in a sexual manner.
âThe victim said she told the defendant to âstop,â then ran from the room and told her parents what occurred. The victim said she believes that she was 4 or 5 years old when this occurred,â according to the affidavit.
