59-year-old woman dies from injuries sustained in March tornado in Calhoun County

Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown on Tuesday said 59-year-old Deborah Free was pronounced dead in late April at a Birmingham hospital. Free was transported to Birmingham on the day of the powerful March 25 storms, then released and later hospitalized again before her death.
Free lived in Ohatchee, where four other people were killed - three in the same family. The other Calhoun County fatality victims were Joe Wayne Harris, 74, Barbara Harris, 69, Ebonique Harris, 38, James William Geno, 72 and Emily Myra Wilborn, 71.
Alabama had at least 10 tornadoes that Thursday, March 25, including an EF3 with winds of 140 mph in Shelby County, that caused extensive property damage, numerous injuries and multiple fatalities across the state, the National Weather Service said.
