Orangeburg County Council is moving forward with an ordinance that would require pet owners to register their pets. The cost would be cheaper for pets that are spayed or neutered.
Orangeburg County pet owners will be required to register and microchip their pets under an animal control ordinance being considered by county council.
Orangeburg County Council is considering a new pet licensing, spaying and neutering requirement and animal tethering laws in an effort to improve animal welfare and reduce overpopulation.
