The Clark County Council should adopt a plan supported by a majority of the county’s redistricting committee. Any alternative would reek of political gamesmanship that poorly serves constituents and is an attempt to hijack county government.

Ed Hamilton Rosales’ opinion piece about American history and the now-apparent need to revise it in favor of the facts is a necessary addition to our local dialogue about race in America (“Teach real history of United States,” The Columbian, May 30). In it, he called out County Chair Eileen Quiring O’Brien for refusing to even become acquainted with these facts.
Clark County is not immune to the misinformation that has hampered efforts to stop the coronavirus pandemic. In such a climate, it is imperative that elected officials share reliable information about the virus and vaccines.
