Proposed solar farm in Lee County draws controversy for its location

DIXON (WREX) Lee County is no stranger to large-scale solar projects over the past couple of years.
Within the past 24 months, the county green lit three solar farms that will cover 7,000 acres and generate enough energy to power 160,000 homes. None of those projects have broke ground, but are expected to be finished by 2024.
However, a possible fourth site has drawn more pushback than it s previous projects. Lee County Board Chairman Bob Olsen says that all has to do with its location. The previous three were all in rural areas, Olden said. This one that s one the table right now is right south of Dixon. We have a lot of people living out there.
