NORTH PROVIDENCE – Despite an increased population of 2,036 residents in North Providence, not a lot is expected to change with local voting district lines, say officials.
NORTH PROVIDENCE – New Councilor Steven Anthony Loporchio took the oath of office in an online ceremony administered by longtime family friend Judge Frank Caprio this month, kicking off his first term as the replacement for longtime Councilor Manny Giusti.
Caprio said he was honored to be part of the Jan. 12 ceremony, after having the privilege of his law office representing the Loporchio family for years. He noted how Loporchio comes from a great working-class family, and he expects him to build on the foundation his parents laid by serving with the utmost integrity, competence and giving approach.
He said Loporchio will not only work in the best interest of the town, including on finances, but will do so while always keeping the “homeless, poor, downtrodden, sick and hopeless” at the forefront of deliberations.
The Española City Council at its Jan. 12 meeting approved a $687,491.07 capital outlay expense to add an additional 1,600 square feet of climate-controlled storage to the fire station at
