County Councilor Gary Medvigy’s calls for better civility and collaboration among council members fell on deaf ears Wednesday as the Clark County Board of Health met to discuss the ongoing pandemic.
The Clark County Council’s debate over whether to return to in-person meetings has yet to be resolved. The council debated the issue at its Jan. 5 meeting but had too many questions still to answer before reaching a decision.
The votes are in and Clark County Councilor Eileen Quiring O’Brien will serve another year as chair, with fellow Councilor Karen Bowerman serving as vice chair. Quiring O’Brien held on to her role as council chair with a 3-2 vote.
A special meeting of the Clark County Board of Health on Tuesday morning was far from routine. Around 80 angry parents, area residents and even high school students called in to comment on the recommendations issued by Public Health last week that led to a pause on high school wrestling activities.
