BACOLOD CITY (PNA) – The City of Bacolod has laid down the requirements for non-essential travelers to ensure that health and safety protocols against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) are strictly followed as they are allowed entry here starting Wednesday.
Councilor Israel Salanga announced the development as per Executive Order No. 1, series of 2021, earlier issued by Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
“This was put on hold last time in coordination with the province (of Negros Occidental) but now we are allowed (to accept non-essential travelers),” Salanga said in a Facebook post.
He, however, clarified that travel between the cities of Bacolod and Iloilo remains unhampered.

+ January 18, 2021 BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia has issued Executive Order (EO) No. 1, establishing the consolidated guidelines for travel into the City of Bacolod.
Leonardia, who signed the EO on January 4, 2021, said that during the modified general community quarantine in November and December 2020, the number of positive coronavirus cases in Bacolod City had been greatly reduced and only less than 50 active cases.
Based on data collected by the Emergency Operations Center, a total of 29 persons who have entered Bacolod City hd tested positive for the coronavirus from October 2020 to present.
Leonardia said while the city saw reduced number of infected cases, such positive outlook may be endangered by travelers coming from the outside.
