FDOT could consider converting one westbound lane into a continual right-turn lane between 14th and 20th avenues, said City Manager Monte Falls, who met with state officials last week about Twin Pairs traffic. That could be done without a traffic study, he said.
City officials plan to continue working with FDOT on traffic-calming techniques such as adding pedestrian crossings and adjusting the traffic-signal timing, Falls said. The city also could request Twin Pairs traffic lanes be narrowed from 11 feet to 10- or 10½-foot lanes, he said.
