A modest group of Kings Mountain residents vehemently opposed a 730-unit complex proposed during a City Council meeting earlier this week.
The development, Cannon 35, would include a mixture of townhomes, apartments and a retirement community off of Kings Mountain Boulevard.
During the Tuesday night meeting, developer R.D. Harrell Co. asked that zoning be changed to allow the 57-acre parcel to host the large development which would have entrances on Kings Mountain Boulevard, Crocker Road and north of Margrace Road.
Traffic concerns
The project was discussed for over nearly three hours of the four-hour meeting in which project managers, residents and City Council members discussed logistics and concerns.
