(Wind River Reservation, WY) – Chairman Jordan Dresser and Councilman Boniface Ridgley of the Northern Arapaho Business Council traveled to Colorado to participate in a signing ceremony today, June 28th, as Governor Jared Polis signed important legislation benefiting the Northern Arapaho Tribe and Indian Country, according to a press release.
SB21-209 directs Colorado colleges and universities to offer in-state tuition to students who are Members of any of the 48 known Tribes â including the Northern Arapaho â that were in Colorado at one time. Separately, Gov. Polis signed into law SB21-116, which bans the use of derogatory American Indian mascots in K-12 public schools.
