Telford & Wrekin Council has welcomed the government s decision to provide access to asymptomatic home testing kits for early years providers.

Early years providers have been required to remain open to all children during the current lockdown.
During this time, providers in Telford have been accessing rapid testing for their staff through the Telford & Wrekin Council s rapid testing centres – council run locations and local pharmacies.
At the beginning of February this year, Councillor Shirley Reynolds, the authority’s cabinet member for children, young people, education and lifelong learning and council leader Shaun Davies wrote to the Education Secretary to raise concerns over lack of testing for early years’ staff.
