Almost 1,000 children are now in care in Stoke-on-Trent â two years after social care for vulnerable youngsters in the city was condemned as inadequate .
The number of looked after children in the Potteries has continued to rise during 2020, reaching a record 991 by the end of December â partly due to Covid-related delays hitting the discharge process.
