Learn-to-surf lessons, beach equipment hire, kayak hire and tours, surf dancing, kite surfing, refreshment vans and beach massage are among the commercial activities Council will award 10 Commercial High Use Permits for. Council will award 10 Commercial High Use Permits for a range of specific commercial activities on public land. TWO new enterprise centres in Somerset are now complete. The centres in Wells and Wiveliscombe join the six other sites in Dulverton, Frome, Wheddon Cross, Highbridge, Minehead and Williton. In Wiveliscombe, the centre on the old Karro’s Food Group site at Sandy Moor Lane, has 10 two person offices and seven small light industrial units. In Wells, the centre in Cathedral Park, has 10 two person offices, two four person offices and five industrial units. Councillor David Hall, cabinet member for Economic Development, Planning and Community Infrastructure, said: “Now, more than ever, it’s vitally important that we do all we can to encourage businesses in Somerset and enable them to thrive and grow.

Press Release – Horowhenua District Council Foxton Beach’s Holben / Te Wharangi Reserve has become the third Horowhenua park to win the prestigious international Green Flag award. Green Flags were also awarded to Thompson House Gardens in Levin in 2018, and to Driscoll Reserve in Manakau in 2019. Both parks have had their Green Flag status renewed for 2021. The Green Flag scheme is considered an international benchmark for good management of outdoor recreational spaces. The awards recognise and reward well-managed parks and green spaces, and aim to ensure everyone has access to good quality green spaces that meet the needs of the community.
