Security Council Press Statement on Attack against United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali, 3 April 2021

The following Security Council press statement was issued today by Council President Dang Dinh Quy (Viet Nam):
The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attack perpetrated on 2 April 2021 against a United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) camp in Aguelhok, Kidal region, which resulted in four peacekeepers from Chad killed and nineteen others injured.
The members of the Security Council expressed their deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to Chad and to MINUSMA. They wished a speedy and full recovery to the peacekeepers who were injured. They paid tribute to the peacekeepers who risk their lives.
