Huntington Beach City Council Look To Issue Vote Of No Confidence Against Tito Ortiz
The former UFC Light-Heavyweight champion and current sitting Mayor Pro Tem in Huntington Beach, California, Tito Ortiz has had a vote of no confidence proposed against him by his peers at the council.
The UFC alumni was voted into power three months ago and has a since had a run full of criticism leading to this point.

Tito Ortiz’s political career may have hit a snag.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion and Hall of Famer was elected to city council of Huntington Beach, Calif. (Ortiz’s hometown) in November and designated Mayor Pro Tem on Dec. 7.
The Pro Tem position means that Ortiz is to serve as mayor in the event that the current mayor is unable to perform their duties for whatever reason. Ortiz would also be in line to become mayor after one year of service.
However, on Thursday, a motion was presented by Mayor Kim Carr and council members Mike Posey and Dan Kalmick to remove Ortiz from his role as Mayor Pro Tem. Ortiz did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Several Huntington Beach City Council members are seeking to remove former UFC champ Tito Ortiz from his position as Mayor Pro Tem of the city.
Ortiz was elected onto Huntington Beach City Council last year, and was subsequently selected to serve as the city’s Mayor Pro Tem. Regrettably, his time in office has been marred by a long list of serious blunders and embarrassments.
The numerous mistakes Ortiz has made have resulted in several of his fellow council members attempting to have him removed from his position via a vote of no confidence.
