The AJ 40 under 40 architect is co-founder of Arigho Larmour Wheeler Architects, which has studios in both Dublin and Belfast
Jane Larmour, 39, went to university in Belfast and Dublin, picking up top student awards from the architecture institutes either side of the Irish border. Since then she has worked for Hall McKnight and RIBA Gold Medallists O’Donnell + Tuomey, before co-founding Arigho Larmour Wheeler Architects (ALWA), a four-year-old practice with studios in both Irish capitals.
Most of its work has involved ‘thinking about people’s homes and how they live’ when designing private houses, extensions and refurbishments. But Larmour says she is hopeful that collaborations with other practices will soon allow ALWA to contribute ‘more readily and meaningfully to social and public work’.
