Will Tusk be the next Capalino?
Andrew Yang’s two campaign managers, his press secretary, his policy director and multiple senior advisers don’t actually work for his New York City mayoral campaign. They’re employed by Tusk Strategies, a lobbying firm that’s regularly hired by clients to advocate for or against bills that are being considered by the City Council and the mayor. And the arrangement raises concerns about what kind of access this lobbying firm – and the private clients that hire Tusk – would have to the mayor if Yang were to win the election.
“We believe that it is improper for the same firm to be both a campaign consultant, and then lobby the person that they helped to elect,” said Susan Lerner, executive director of good-government group Common Cause New York. Consultants build “a special relationship of trust” with the candidate, and Lerner added they’re increasingly cashing in on that relationship.

The New York Mets are partnering with the city to set up a COVID-19 vaccination clinic inside Citi Field in Queens.
NEW YORK - New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday that the city was on track to vaccinate one million New Yorkers by the end of the month, but at that pace, runs the risk of running out of the vaccine.
In two weeks time, the city may not have enough doses of the COVID vaccine to cover all the eligible New Yorkers which now includes anyone 65 and older.

Instead they pushed the NYC Council to do its job and pass intro 1994, a bill that will fully fund voter education on RCV.

NEW YORK, NY (12/14/2020) (readMedia) Today, 23 women candidates for New York City Council wrote an open letter in support of Ranked Choice Voting, arguing that it will help elect more women women of color in particular by eliminating the spoiler effect and decreasing negative attacks. Rather than seeking to delay ranked choice voting, we need the Council to pass Intro 1994 which would fund and mandate a full voter education campaign. The Council has the power to make sure its stated goals of educating voters are fulfilled. Use it. As candidates, we also understand that we have a responsibility, alongside city agencies, to educate the voters and we don t shy from that opportunity.
