Councillors declare 'war on fly-tippers' | LincolnshireWorld

District councillors have declared war on fly-tippers throughout North Kesteven. Thursday, 20th May 2021, 5:30 pm A variety of junk was dumped, polluting the Ancaster Valley SSSI, some time during the past two weeks. And it comes as police appeal for witnesses to an outrageous act of dumping junk on a local nature reserve beauty spot in Ancaster. The number of fly-tipping incidents reported in the district has jumped by two thirds in a year – from 837 in 12 months ending in March 2020 to 1,405 in the same period ending this March. With a similar trend across Lincolnshire, the district council has said enough is enough and has formed a county-wide Environmental Crime Partnership with all relevant agencies working together.

The Hub is back in Sleaford after £1.2m revamp

Hub EMN-211005-095922001 When it opens its doors again on Monday, following the year-long programme to extend the café, reorder the gallery, create new accessible dance and workshop space and refocus its community provision, the NCCD will again be known by the name that was dropped a decade ago - The Hub. Reflecting on its origins as Hubbard and Phillips’ seed warehouse and its previous name which many people have continued to use, the name is also said to recognise the building’s status as a multi-arts centre hub for broader expression of arts and creativity beyond craft and design.
