interest to hear this talk about the department of justice and being so corrupt and all of these issues that they had. it was the department of justice that indicted me on three felonies but couldn t convict me on any. it s disappointing that the news media and this network as well continues to tell people i m a felon which s never been convicted of a felony. i m less likely to be a felon than anyone given that i was investigated for 4 1/2 years and they couldn t find anything. neil: so what are you if you served time in jail? a misdemeanor. the only one to serve time in california. that should tell us something as when when they re sending misdemeanors to prison when they can t communicate. it s pretty telling. neil: there are those that would disagree with that. they re saying it s bigger than a misdemeanor when 29 people are killed in a mining accident in 2010 for which you or your company was held accountable for
lot of scrutiny and this trial watched by millions of people. i think they want to explain how they reached their verdict and i expect someone will. beth, i want to make it clear why the jury might not want to come forward publicly because there have been several angry tweets kind of attacking them, not in a good way. yeah. social media is playing a role now that is actually very troubling in these trials. and we saw threats against witnesses in the jodi arias, now i do mean the arias trial and it is problematic. are they empty threats? yeah, maybe. but they are frightening. i do agree with page, though. jurors do eventually come out, at least one. and i think that they ll at least one will come out to say, look, we followed the law. i m sorry, i do feel maybe i wanted to find them guilty of something. but when you follow the law, which is what we believe we did, we just couldn t convict. beth karas, page pate, thank
the prosecution s case in florida was impossible to win. when you have a law that says you re allowed to use a gun in self-defense if you, quote, feel threatened and it s up to the prosecution to prove that you didn t feel threatened which i think is an absolute impossibility, then you couldn t convict george zimmerman. so i think the focus should be on the law, not on whether there was a miscarriage of justice in the trial. you mean the stand your ground law. which really didn t factor into the case but in and the whole self-defense definition and what you have to prove to show that it wasn t. bill, one of the biggest hurdles may be the fbi. they re interviewing some three dozen people and they found no evidence apparently that race was a factor in the shooting of trayvon martin. and the whole thing is i can t believe, first of all, and i have high regard for eric holder, but i can t believe they would bring a case. it would be such a disaster in terms of what it would say a
