Bucks County law enforcement officials are considering additional nonlethal force alternatives as officials continue to look at the use of force in policing.
On Monday, Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub and several Bucks County police chiefs watched a demonstration of mixed martial arts. While the authorities did not commit to using marital arts as a tool, they said it could be a consideration. The training is how to control the situation without hurting someone, as an option, said Philadelphia Councilman David Oh, who coordinated the demonstration and encouraged officials to consider the training for Bucks County departments.
Monday s demonstration, held at MPR Endurance MMA in Middletown, was an extension of Bucks County police department s examination of use-of-force.
