Support has been sought for new plans for a golf course at Coul Links in Sutherland.
The Scottish government rejected proposals for an 18-hole championship course in the area of coastal dunes last February.
A group called Communities For Coul has resurrected the idea of building a course, arguing that it would bring much-needed jobs.
Environmental campaigners say Coul Links should be protected.
Communities For Coul s proposals are separate from the previous plans for a course on the land at Embo near Dornoch.

Coul Farm landowner Edward Abel Smith has revealed he is moving forward with a plan for a £20 million eco-friendly hotel in tandem with a renewed proposal for a championship golf course at Coul Links.
Mr Abel Smith intends building lodge style accommodation to service golf clientele should the course get the go-ahead, and says he has been offered the necessary investment.
A planning application for the development, which would create more than 40 new jobs, is set to be submitted âimminentlyâ.

During that period, he warned the US leisure giant that the planned course – which was to come with a £1bn investment – posed a “very significant threat” to the protected dune system there, a mass of dynamic shifting sands that had been designated a site of special scientific interest (SSSI).
