ITSSA demands implementation of Clause VI and Clause 10 The Indigenous Tribal SahityaSabha, Assam (ITSSA) has demanded the Government to implement the Clause VI and Clause STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: The Indigenous Tribal SahityaSabha, Assam (ITSSA) has demanded the Government to implement the Clause VI and Clause 10 of the Assam Accord. Addressing the media, ITSSA president GobindoTaid highlighted a slew of demands from the Government with addressal of the same. Taid said that the recommendations submitted by the Biplab Kumar Sharma-led high-level committee for the implementation of Clause VI should be passed in the ongoing session of the Parliament. The ITSSA president opined that a similarly high-level committee should be formed for the implementation of Clause 10 of the Assam Accord. Along with that, the Harish Shankar Brahma committee report on land policies of Assam should be implemented immediately, said the ITSSA.

The NFR (Northeast Fronteir) has received an allocation of Rs 8,060 crore in the recently placed Union Budget. Out of this Rs 4,330 crore has been allocated for New Lines and Doubling works. Rs 3,470 crore has been allocated for Safety and Capacity Enhancement Works. Passenger Amenities received Rs 166 crore. The Gross Budgetary Allocation for 2021-22 Financial year is 238% more than the average yearly allocation during the period from 2009-14 (Rs 3383 crore per year).

APPOINTMENT TO 29,701 TEACHERS GUWAHATI: Scripting a precedent in the history of State s education sector, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal presented appointment letters to 29,701 teachers at a programme at Sarusajai Sports Complex here on Friday. Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present at the programme. In the biggest-ever appointment letter distribution event in a single day, 16484 teachers were given appointment for provincializing their schools and 13, 217 TET teachers also got appointment by virtue of their merits. With this appointment, shortage of teachers in the educational institutions would be addressed to a great extent. Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said that the appointment to 29,701 teachers is a testimony of the State government s keen interests to bring about qualitative improvement in the education sector.
