A racial slur was found etched into a window at a Sharon elementary school on Thursday, police said.
The slur was discovered âfaintly etchedâ into an outside window near a rear entrance of the Cottage Street School, Sharon police said in a tweet. The slur had been buffed out of the window by the time police arrived.
Police believe the vandalism occurred between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.
Yesterday SPD was advised that a racial slur had been faintly etched into an outside window at a rear entrance to the Cottage Street School. The window was buffed out before our arrival. Authorities seek the public’s help after a racial slur was found faintly etched into the outside of a window at a Massachusetts elementary school Thursday, according to police.
The slur was reported to Sharon Police Officer Michael Hocking, the town’s school resource officer, after it was found on the outside window at the rear entrance to the Cottage Street School, authorities said.
There are no surveillance cameras in the area, but authorities believe the slur was etched into the window at the elementary school between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday, according to a Facebook post from the Sharon Police Department on Friday.
