Head of Aceh province s Natural Resources Conservation Agency Agus Arianto said the elephant was named Otto aged 25 years old. A medical team from the agency and Syiah Kuala University in the province has taken samples from the elephant s organs for tests at the Indonesian police s forensic laboratory. As a result of the necropsy, the medical team found that the elephant s intestines were blackened, and infected by endoparasites, Arianto said.
