Dozens of UMass Lowell student athletes and their pen pals from some of Lowell’s elementary schools met each other in person at a gathering at the Costello Athletic Center Monday morning. The student athletes were gathered on the basketball court as the young elementary schoolers stepped off their buses and walked in, each with a photo of their pen pal to use to pick them out of the crowd.
