Grateful Dead tea available supporting Hill Tribe farmers of Thailand

The Grateful Dead doesn’t collaborate with just anybody  in fact, the legendary jam band is very selective with the endeavors it chooses to grace with the name, iconography and legacy associated with its brand. “Everything about the Grateful Dead is timeless and iconic, so we aim to pair them with brands that are their cultural equals,” said band archivist and legacy manager David Lemieux. “The Dead have a history of inclusiveness and a strong social and environmental conscience, so finding partners that share those ideals is also key.” This month, the Dead entered the world of tea with Grateful Tea, a collection from Love Some Tea, the Grateful Dead and Warner Music Artist Services/Rhino Records.

The Grateful Dead now have a line of tea. Inspired by their music, Grateful Tea is imported by Love Some Tea, a company that imports high-grade tea grown in Thailand. Company CEO Scott Fernandezsays, “The ‘Plantation Free’ method of growing and harvesting Grateful Teas from Love Some Tea sees to it that no land is cleared for planting, and machinery is never used to harvest. It is done by hand… “We’re certain that our sustainable farming and harvesting methods make tea healthier and more delicious for everyone who drinks them. It’s literally as pure and ruggedly natural as can be. Which is why our tea leaves are both potent in flavor and effect.”
