A Canadian national who was arrested in Jamaica while reportedly on vacation, and extradited to the United States last month, has been charged with alleged involvement a multi-million dollar fraud scheme.
Martin Hogan, a 52-year-old of Montreal, Canada, has been charged with conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud and international money laundering conspiracy.
He appeared before US Magistrate, Judge Mark W Pedersen, on Monday, and was remanded in custody until March 1.
The US Department of Justice, in a statement, said between September 2015 and March 2020, Hogan conspired with multiple co-defendants to defraud elderly victims using a fraudulent telemarketing scheme.
