THE MP for Clwyd South has praised the work being done to repair and renew the Dee Bridge in Llangollen. Following his recent visit to the site, Simon Baynes MP says Llangollen Railway volunteers are doing an excellent job .To run trains over the Dee Bridge next year the railway has had to replace the timbers on the bridge. The work required purchasing new timbers costing £15,000. A successful appeal collecting the amount needed was launched in November by the Llangollen Railway Trust. Simon Baynes MP said: “Everyone at the Llangollen Railway Trust is doing an excellent job of carrying out the necessary repairs to run train services in 2021. I was really impressed to hear more about their plans for the forthcoming year despite the challenges posed by Covid, with new services being planned for the restored Corwen Station.”
