No 10 Syracuse Heads Home to Finish Regular Season against Robert Morris

Credit Robert Morris University Athletics It has been a carousel for tenth-ranked Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse this season, to say the least. Up and down, up and down, up and down the horses have gone.   The Orange started out hot at 4-1. But ever since the trip to Durham on March 25, SU has dropped four of its last six. One of those four losses came this past Saturday, with Syracuse falling and then some to Notre Dame 22-8. The Orange gave up ten goals in the second quarter, coughing up a 17-2 run that began in the second frame.    SU head coach John Desko says there’s a lot of work to do with the defense.

Stamper s Musings: Taite Cattoni is in the 2021 Draft, and it Shakes Up the First Round

Post a comment Stamper s Musings: Taite Cattoni is in the 2021 Draft, and it Shakes Up the First Round Monday April 5th, 2021 11:11am There are likely to be many changes to the lists of prospects for the next few National Lacrosse League entry drafts thanks to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and what decisions it leads players to make regarding their college careers. One change to my prospects lists that can be confirmed is that Taite Cattoni will be entering the draft this fall rather than in 2022. Cattoni appeared in my list of players to watch for the 22 draft, published back in February. However, he is no longer at Johns Hopkins, where he followed in the footsteps of his older brother, Rochester Knighthawks star Holden. Taite Cattoni is taking classes at Trent University and may join the Excalibur for the 2021 CUFLA season this fall.

Men s DI Roundup: Vermont Tops UAlbany; Mark Leads LIU s Historic Win; Delaware s CAA Rout

They proved all that right in a 14-12 win at No. 14 UAlbany. Very proud of these Cats for getting their first win at UAlbany, said coach Chris Feifs in a release. We know there is still much to improve from our performance today but happy with the grit we showed to dig in against a very talented UAlbany team. Liam Limoges and Ryan Cornell especially rose to the challenge and were outstanding today for us. Back to work on Monday for NJIT. For Vermont, it showed some key things: First, Michael McCormack’s continued emergence as a threat. The Middlebury transfer stretches the field for Vermont, and he started the scoring in a back-and-forth opening section to the game. He continued with two goals and two assists.

Stamper s Musings: My Not Quite as Way Early as Usual Way Early NLL Mock Draft

Post a comment Wednesday January 20th, 2021 9:09am Jonathan Donville at the 2019 Minto Cup. (Photo: Damon James/BCJALL) It s never too early to take a look ahead at the upcoming National Lacrosse League entry draft.  In fact, this year I m getting to my early mock well behind the schedule I ve established over the last few years, when I generally ran it in October, about a month after the previous draft. You can call it the Covid effect. The reality is, it s way way harder to figure out next year s draft for the simple reason that we don t have much information. When players aren t getting to play lacrosse games, it s awfully hard to determine who among them should be the highest picks.
