Erie County Community College has taken another step forward. Almost $5 million for the college s operating expenses has been allocated in the 2021-22 state budget signed by Gov. Tom Wolf last week. It s the first time Erie County Community College will receive a share of state funding earmarked for Pennsylvania s community colleges. One gigantic argument we made in pushing for a community college was that we in Erie County have been paying into that budget all along but never had the benefit of a community college and having some of that state money come to us, said Erie County Community College Board Chairman Ron DiNicola.
