Protesters started camping out in front of Government House in Bangkok’s Dusit district on Friday, urging the government to stop giving special treatment to convicted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and send him back to prison to complete his one-year jail term.

Operatives of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday raided some major filling stations within the metropolis suspected to be hoarding petrol in order to create artificial scarcity.
The Executive Chairman of the commission, Mr Muhuyi Gado, who led the team of the operations department of the anti-graft agency and other relevant stakeholders during the raid, said the move had become imperative following series of complaints by the members of the public.

Muhuyi, who was accompanied by the head of state office of the National Human Right Commission, the director of operations of the outfit, including some of the anti-graft body’s employees, assured that the commission would continue to partner with all other relevant stakeholders, with a view to halting unwholesome practices.
