and we have been listening to and watching president biden deliver those remarks about his infrastructure plan there in lacrosse, wisconsin. calls it a blue collar blueprint to rebuild america. i want to bring in from wisconsin nbc news correspondent heidi przybyla. we ve all heard versions of this speech before. i will suggest, though, that we have not seen president biden deliver this speech in this way. i think he was fairly fired up. we all got an education about his american jobs plan, the american families plan and how he intends or proposes to pay for it. so heidi, put into sort of a fuller context everything we heard from the president this hour. reporter: well, now we know, jeff, why we are here, because the president wants to underscore very explicitly just how overdue we are for a major infusion into infrastructure. we are marking today the 65th anniversary of the last time we did a major infrastructure
issue at their rallies today. clearly i think the hyde amendment is wrong, i think that we have a nation where all these insidious things are being done to undermine women s reproductive rights in this country. i don t support the hyde amendment and i will lead the fight to have it overturned. i m out there fighting against the hyde amendment because i think that s what s right for women. and some influential progressive groups put out statements condemning biden s position. they were all calling it harmful to women. emily s list calling it unacceptable. the progressive change campaign committee agreeing, saying it s unjust and discriminatory and endangers women and families. the reporter behind this story is nbc news political correspondent heidi przybyla. wow, has this stirred stuff up, all coming from your reporting on joe biden s evolving voting record on abortion and as the headline on dot-com says, that record still holds surprises, doesn t it? as you can see this is comi
hey, i could change my mind. heidi przybyla thank you so much. people can find that story at nbcnews.com. i want to bring in nancy cook and karen tumelty. you know, as heidi pointed out this plethora of new state laws aimed at effectively banning abortion and also the makeup of the supreme court have really brought this issue back into presidential politics with a force we haven t seen in many years, maybe decades. kirsten gillibrand has made abortion a central issue of her campaign. how big a political risk is this for joe biden? i think it s an enormous risk. in a democratic party i really think that support for the hyde amendment is just not really a tenable position to have. you know, back in the 1980s it was much more of a mainstream position within the party. we have seen presidential candidates in the past have to
allegation. during the interview, kavanaugh was asked since you graduated from college but before the new yorker article publication on september 23rd, have you ever discussed or heard discussions about the incident matching the description given pie ms. ramirez to the new yorker. to which kavanaugh replied no. brett kavanaugh s friend sent a text message before the new yorker article was published saying kavanaugh asked her to go on the record in his defense. the same report says two other messages show communication between kavanaugh s team and former classmates ahead of the story s publication. nbc news national political correspondent heidi przybyla co-wrote the report. put this into context for us, please. the question is whether the fbi is going to look at this additional information at a time when so many feel that they are not being heard by the fbi. these are text messages from
