Aseguran que “hay relación directa” entre fracking y sismos
El estudio ratifica, tras siete años de investigación, lo que habitantes de las zonas afectadas por sismos advierten desde 2018.

“Pienso que hay relación directa entre la actividad y los sismos”, sostiene Sebastián Correa Otto, quien investiga este fenómeno desde 2014, cuando comenzaba a realizarse hidrofractura de manera masiva en Vaca Muerta. En su tesis de doctorado sobre sismos en esa formación, registró 62 movimientos telúricos de más de 3 grados Richter en cinco años; uno por mes. El doctor en Geofísica afirma que para desarrollar una actividad segura se debe evitar instalar pozos de inyección o de fractura “en la cercanía de estructuras con potencial sismogénico”.
