Three couples are in the running for a wedding day giveaway package made possible by a bride whose own wedding was canceled and Crème de la Cocoa, the local bakery that had been set to make her cake.
Pamela Coates-Smith, 22, of Tallahassee, had been scheduled to walk down the aisle this October at Castle Otttis in Vilano Beach, until she and her groom-to-be broke up.
Coates-Smith had already signed a contract with Crème de la Cocoa and paid $1,000 in full to design an elaborate custom, multi-tiered fondant wedding cake for the occasion.
Realizing her contract did not allow for a refund, Coates-Smith decided to gift it to another worthy couple, deciding on the recipients through a contest sponsored by Crème de la Cocoa and other local vendors who have signed on to add other services for the giveaway.
