Washington State University wants to sell its College Hill off campus property that has been home to 2 popular student bars.
An informational item to the WSU Regents shows that the administration intends to sell Adams Mall. WSU bought the building in 2004 for 1.5 million dollars under former President V. Lane Rawlins. The purchase was part of Rawlins’ plan to revitalize College Hill.
At the time Shakers bar was operating inside Adams Mall. That business closed in 2005 and Stubblefields bar opened in the space that same year. Stubblefields closed last Summer.
According to the report to the regents the 36,000 square foot building has been managed by Corporate Pointe Developers in Pullman. WSU has received 10% of the gross revenues generated from the property which the administration describes as “minimal income.”
