The MOBA game s devs have unveiled the Madman of Zaun s brand-new overhaul
Around a month ago, we reported that League of Legends developer Riot Games was “pretty close” to launching the upcoming rework of everyone’s favourite homicidal purple doctor, champion Dr. Mundo. Well, that time has now arrived. The studio has just unveiled the new and improved Madman of Zaun, so we’ve got a complete gameplay and visual overhaul to check out in detail.
With Mundo being one of the game’s very first 40 champs, his abilities have naturally been somewhat simpler and more pared back than those of many later additions (
The skins will hit the store alongside Mundo’s rework.

Dr. Mundo fans will get the chance to dip their hands in the skin vault for a limited time.
Riot showcased the madman’s full VGU today, giving Mundo a snazzy new look to stomp the Rift with. And while a number of his legacy skins are normally unavailable for purchase, they’re coming out of the vault for
League of Legends Patches 11.12 and 11.13.
Toxic Mundo (520 RP), Mr. Mundoverse (520 RP), Mundo Mundo (975 RP), Executioner Mundo (520 RP), TPA Mundo (750 RP), and Frozen Prince Mundo (1,350 RP) will all hit the store for two patch cycles. With each patch lasting two weeks, players should have a month to snag the cosmetics before they’re gone forever aside from Hextech chests and Your Store promotions, that is.
Dr. Mundo is one of the oldest champions in
League of Legends, but in the game’s next patch he finally gets his first full update. After his 2009 debut, Dr. Mundo has held up pretty well over the years, but now Riot is remaking his abilities and his visuals to better match his mad-scientist theme.
Unlike certain other reworks, where Riot had to scrap a champion’s entire kit to improve them, the new Mundo is actually pretty familiar. In fact, most of these abilities should still be pretty recognizable for anyone who has played Dr. Mundo in the past.
