In 2020 he launched a new 10-year sustainability action plan titled ‘Society 2030: Spirit of Progress’.
The plan laid out goals including increasing the representation of ethnic minorities in leadership positions to 45% by 2030, as well as increasing the percentage of Diageo suppliers from female and minority-owned businesses year-on-year.
2020 also saw the roll-out of a new learning intervention ‘Confronting Racial Bias Learning’, and the opening of Diageo’s fourth global ‘INC’ week; an employee-led, grassroots movement encouraging employees around the world to celebrate diversity.

The proportion of women in senior
management roles globally stood at 29% in 2020, according to advisory firm
Grant Thornton. This compares with 30% in the EU, 29% in North America and 27%
in Asia-Pacific. Female leaders around the world have told IFLR that gender
diversity in senior management is improving but there is a lot more to be done,
especially when it comes to company and government policies that can help.

Leading civil rights attorney Ben Crump is ranked No. 1 on Lawyers of Color’s list of the 10 Most Influential Black Lawyers of the Decade. In ranking the attorneys, Lawyers of Color considered each individual’s media reach, legal pipeline influence, social justice policy impact, and the extent to which each inspires.
Crump is being honored for the years he has spent fighting for justice for the families of Martin Anderson, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and George Floyd.
