COURAGEOUS Territorial Army recruits from Herefordshire are promoting peace in distant lands. Eleven county soldiers travelled to Kabul in Afghanistan last Saturday on a three-month mission peace keeping, patrolling and assisting local police forces. Among the men, who are all members of the reconnaissance platoon from Hereford which is part of the West Midlands Regiment, was Sergeant Stuart Cotterall who has spent 18 years in the services. The postman from Hereford, who has a wife and three children, first got involved with the TA after chatting with a friend. My father was also in the TA and the armed services, he added.
